Point 1 – Value Plays:

  • Point Guard – Elfrid Payton is our top value play with a value on DraftKings of -1.53 and for FanDuel, he also leads this category with a value of +2.33.
  • Shooting Guard – Evan Fournier leads our value play at SG with a FanDuel value of +.76 and on DraftKings we have Allen Crabbe with a -1.17 value. He is a strong consideration for value tonight.

DraftKings Lineup Consideration

DK_LAFor DraftKings tonight we are rolling with Westbrook as our top chalk play tonight as he has the best matchup and the highest projection by far tonight. Next we have Kevin Love, who has been playing as well as anyone at the PF position of late and with the Cavs looking his way on the offensive side of the ball. Jordan Clarkson is our next guy as he is our top value play with a projection over 30 at the PG position. Will Barton also leads that list tonight with a projection over 30 and is our top value play for guys over 30 at the SG position. Robin Lopez is yet another guy with a projection over 30 and leads our value play list tonight. Jeff Green had an outstanding game his last time out and with the Clippers playing the Nuggets, he should see plenty of time on the court. We combo him with Redick for the same reasons and finish this lineup with Jared Dudley, who was a 34 last night on DraftKings. Overall this lineup should reach our 285 goal for tonight.

To download a full copy of this lineup, click here.

FanDuel Lineup Consideration

FD_LAFor FanDuel tonight we have Dragic and Westbrook at the PG position. These guys should easily exceed our goal of 76 points from this position tonight and in fact they will probably go for closer to 90 fantasy points tonight. Next we have Wiggins and Crawford who are projected to get 54 fantasy points but Crawford is coming off an awful game so he will be looking to score against a week Denver defense. Expect 30 from each of these guys and we are still within our threshold for goal tonight. At SF we have George and Morris and combined they will easily reach our 60 point goal and in fact should be closer to 75 fantasy points when considering their matchups and Morris’ projected extra time on the court. At PF we have Dieng and Dudley who are also hot hand players of late. Dieng has gone for at least 35 in 3 straight games and Dudley is coming off a 30+ point night last night. Look for 65+ out of these two tonight. At Center we are going with value in Robin Lopez and he should hit 40 at least!

Point 4 – Key Injuries:

Injuries are updated as of 5:30 p.m. EST, be sure to confirm prior to tip!

  • injuryDeMarcus Cousins: UPDATE: Cousins battled a sore tailbone at Saturday’s practice but should be fine, ABC 10’s Sean Cunningham reports.
  • Rajon Rondo: UPDATE: Rondo (toe) is considered probable for Tuesday’s game against the Nuggets.
  • Terrance Jones: UPDATE: Jones (concussion) went through practice Sunday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Point 5 – Absolutes:

This information is based on the overall projection of each player as well as the opponent they are playing against. We combine those factors and determine the best plays broken down by salary range. To get a full copy of this report for DraftKings click here, for FanDuel click here.

  • The top overall #AbsoluteMustHave is James Harden for both sites tonight as he has the best matchup, value and projection combo for tonight.
  • The top overall #AbsoluteNotable is Thad Young for both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight as his mid range salary makes him a strong consideration in all formats.
  • The top overall #AbsoluteSleeper is Darren Collison has the best chance at being a huge value play tonight with Rondo injured but expected to play and the Nuggets giving up the most fantasy points to the PG position over their last 5 games.

DraftKings Lineup Consideration

DK_LAFor DraftKings tonight, our top lineup includes the likes of Jrue Holiday, Gordon Hayward and Brook Lopez. These are the top projected performers for this lineup as each of these guys should hover around 40 fantasy points if not a bit higher tonight. Next we have Victor Oladipo and Rodney Hood as both have great matchups and could also hit that 40+ fantasy point night tonight. We finish this lineup off with Elfrid Payton, Trevor Ariza and Ed Davis. Payton is trying to find his spot on the team as Brandon Jennings has outplayed him the last two games and could be a viable option for Payton in this lineup as you can afford to make that change but Payton is projected to get 26 points tonight. Ariza is the #3 SF tonight and should get at least 30 fantasy points tonight. Last we have Ed Davis, who if he plays 20 minutes as he is projected, he will get around 20 fantasy points. If he gets in the block action, he could get as a high as 30 fantasy points but we assume 20 tonight. That puts this lineup at around 270 fantasy points with 4 players having upside of going for over 50, which would get you into that guarantee cash point.

To download a full copy of this lineup, click here.

FanDuel Lineup Consideration

FD_LAOn FanDuel, we have a ton of options for chalk plays tonight with Cousins, Davis, Lillard, Wall and Harden all in action. You can afford to take any three of these guys but we are opting for two chalk plays in Anthony Davis and James Harden for our top projected lineup. At PG, we have Mudiay and Collison as Rondo is expected to play but the Nuggets give up a ton to the PG position and Collison should get around 30 fantasy points, where Mudiay should be around 35 fantasy points. Alongside Harden, we have Victor Oladipo, who has been around 50 in each of his last two games and should get at least 40 tonight. At SF, we are going with two Rockets in Ariza and Brewer. You could swap Brewer for Harkless if you wanted to as Harkless has been playing very well of late but for consistency, Brewer will get around 20 fantasy points and Ariza will be around 35 fantasy points tonight. At PF, we have Davis and his other companion tonight on our lineup is Jared Dudley. Dudley should get around 25 fantasy points tonight given his matchup and projected playing time. Last we have Jahlil Okafor at center tonight. While he is not the top projected center, he has been playing very well of late and should get around 40 fantasy points tonight. If this holds true, you have a lineup that will achieve 325 fantasy points and that should get you a #WIN in all formats tonight.

Teaching You How to #Win – Heavy Favorites/Top Over-Under/Matchups to Exploit Week 17

name of site - hunter thompson style

Heaviest Favorites

As of today, the heaviest favorites for the week are as follows:

  • Carolina at home against Tampa Bay – 11.5
  • Pittsburgh -11.5 at Cleveland
  • New England -11.5 at Miami

The three top favorite games all have impact into playoff positioning with two of these teams vying for home field throughout the playoffs with Carolina and New England. Both teams are playing below average teams that have nothing to play for other than they are divisional opponents so they certainly would like to throw a wrench in mix. As for Cleveland, Manziel pulled yet another idiotic move over the holiday weekend and now you just have to wonder, how did this kid even get into college? How much did his daddy have to pay Texas A&M for him to be able to play. I admit, even I thought he had a shot at being an electrifying playing in the NFL just like he was in college but look at his transgressions. So Austin Davis will most likely get the start and that bodes well for a Pittsburgh blowout. Unlike the Ravens who came to play last week and Big Ben did not, this one is for their season. Look for the Pittsburgh offense to roll the Browns and even the Steelers defense should be a consideration this week. For Carolina, it’s their defense and Cam Newton, you cannot rely on anyone else this weekend with Olsen and Stewart having some injury issues the past couple of weeks. In New England, Tom Brady could be owned by less than 10% of the field this weekend and he has owned Miami in his career. Not to mention the Dolphins haven’t stopped anyone in the past 4 weeks and with New England looking to secure the top seed in the AFC, Gronkowski and White are also players you should be looking at on Sunday morning.

Top Overall Game Over/Under

The highest projected contest this week is….rolling the dice……oh wait we already know it’s the Saints and whoever they face. This week it is the Atlanta Falcons, who are coming off a strong performance, taking down the undefeated Panthers last weekend. The problem in this game is the only thing that matters is the rivalry. These teams hate each other more than any other rivalry, they just don’t get the press that some of these other teams get. This matchup has an over of 53 and that is 6 points higher than any other game this weekend and that means that stacks on this matchup should be something you consider more so than any other game. Players that are on the board are Julio Jones, Matt Ryan and Freeman from the Falcons, Hightower, Brees, Watson and Cooks for the Saints. Personally, I like the Falcons players more so than the Saints, the exception being Hightower as most wouldn’t know this but the Falcons are #1 against the WR position this season in terms of fantasy performance. What the Falcons cannot stop is the RB and TE position. In their last contest, earlier in the season Ben Watson and Mark Ingram had over 26 fantasy points each in that contest while Brees and Cooks, not so much. Matt Ryan and any other top 20 QB that has played the Saints this season has scored at least 25 fantasy points. Julio Jones is shooting for a 16 catch 208 yard performance in order to be the single season all-time record holder for yards and receptions in the NFL. Take these guys and watch your score go above the 150 mark and use our Lineup Analyzer™ to get some recommendations for the rest.

Matchups to Exploit

Here we breakdown the pass defense, rush defense and overall defense to exploit for the week. If a team shows up in this area, it’s because our system shows them as giving up the most yardage totals for the upcoming week.

Let’s make this simple: the stats come directly from our Odds page, so come and take a peak here.

  • Passing Defense to Exploit:  New York Giants projected (296.69)
  • Rushing Defense to Exploit:  San Francisco projected (121.16)
  • Overall Defense to Exploit:  New York Giants projected (421.32)

These KPI’s are pointing to a huge scoring game between the Eagles and the Giants. In fact, DC*3PO’s top projected yardage output is the Giants and the Eagles at 839.07 total yards. This means taking OBJ and Jordan Matthews, along with Ertz should pan out well for you. The question for the Eagles is what offense are they going to run. Look for Murray to get the bulk of the carries in the backfield this weekend as the Eagles look to determine if they should keep Murray for next season. If Gurley plays, you must play him, if he doesn’t going with the backup in St. Louis while risky, what isn’t on week 17, Tre Mason, will tear apart that terrible run defense of the 49ers. In fact, we should all hope that Gurley sits this one out so we can all have the cheapest RB play that will get 20+ fantasy points on Sunday.

Teaching You How to #Win – Heavy Favorites/Top Over-Under/Matchups to Exploit Week 16

name of site - hunter thompson style

Heaviest Favorites

As of today, the heaviest favorites for the week are as follows:

  • Seattle -13.5 over St. Louis
  • Kansas City -12.5 over Cleveland
  • Pittsburgh -10 over Baltimore

The blowout for the holiday weekend is Seattle over St. Louis by 13.5 points. Seattle is one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now but Baldwin emerged with a hamstring issue and the Seahawks don’t really have anything to play for as they cannot win the division so the only seeding that remains for them is 5 or 6. Regardless, that means no home games in the playoffs for Seattle this season and so they may look to rest some of these guys over the last two games. That could mean a heavy running attack and that means Christine Michael should be on your radar. The next game is the Chiefs versus the Browns. The Browns have been awful, except against the 49ers and the Chiefs are riding an 8 game win streak right now. Look for Maclin to continue his 12+ fantasy point streak to 8 games this weekend and West, should have another big game this Sunday! Last we have Pittsburgh against the Ravens. This game has typically been a blood bath but this season, not so much. The Ravens have a ton of injuries and they are forced to play Clausen at QB. In this matchup, it is hard to not just ride with Big Ben and Antonio Brown combo breaker, especially against the second worst pass defense in the league but you should also consider Aiken on the other side because the Steelers are the worst against WR1 position this season.

Top Overall Game Over/Under

The highest projected contest this week for the 7th out of the last 8 weeks is the Saints contest. This week they go up against the Jaguars and their 3rd ranked passing attack. That doesn’t bode well for the Saints terrible passing defense and so how should this impact your daily fantasy selections? This means that Bortles will most likely be selected by over 30% of the field and this is a guy that you should just have this week. But who else should you consider? Allen Robinson is a top 5 WR in the NFL and so he is a selection consideration every week. Julius Thomas has scored at least 11 fantasy points in 7 straight games and the saints are by far the worst defense against the TE1 position this season. At RB, Denard Robinson is expected to start and play for the Jags and he should also be a consideration for low cost, high upside in this contest. The main issue here is if Drew Brees will play on the other side of the ball. This has the potential for high scoring but if Brees is unable to go, the entire Saints offense should not be considered in your daily fantasy lineups. If Brees does go, ride with Cooks and Hightower, then watch for the injury status on Ben Watson.

  • Passing Defense to Exploit:  New Orleans projected (284.19)
  • Rushing Defense to Exploit:  Miami projected (128.76) – Sunday only PHI for Saturday at 132.4
  • Overall Defense to Exploit:  New Orleans & Miami projected (407)

These are very key indicators for daily fantasy exploits and this week, all signs point to the Jacksonville offense and you probably won’t go wrong with any of their key players. As for Miami, they are playing against the Colts and so the numbers probably won’t pan out as bad as they have been over the past several weeks. That said, playing Gore at a small salary position for one of your RB’s this weekend could get you around 18 fantasy points. At the WR position, this seems like a week that TY Hilton goes off, the issue is the QB for the Colts and who that might even be.

Teaching You How to #Win – Heavy Favorites/Top Over-Under/Matchups to Exploit Week 15

Heaviest Favorites

As of today, the heaviest favorites for the week are as follows:

  • Seattle -16 over Cleveland
  • New England -15.5 over Tennessee
  • Kansas City -7.5 over Baltimore

The largest projected blowout by Vegas this week is Seattle at home over the Cleveland Browns. Seattle’s offense has taken off of late and Cleveland hasn’t been able to stop anyone all season. Look for Wilson to continue his hot streak and consider taking both Lockett and Baldwin this week with the Seattle defense. This stack should get you between 90 and 100 fantasy points on Sunday afternoon. Moving onto the next matchup, we have the Patriots -15.5 over the Titans. The obvious fantasy selection in this one is Tom Brady. Did you know that Brady has thrown for at least 4 TD’s in each of his last 3 games against the Titans. The problem with Brady and Gronkowski is their price, they are almost too expensive to consider, specifically from a value perspective. Look for White to catch a bunch of balls and he should be a consideration for your Flex play this week. Last we have the Chiefs over the Ravens by 7.5 points. Alex Smith has played very well of late and look for this to continue as the Ravens secondary has been torched all season, including 5 TD’s last weekend. This also means that Maclin is a top 5 WR this weekend. He is only $5,500 on DraftKings so you should have him across the board.

Top Overall Game Over/Under

The highest projected contest this week the Saints and Lions. The Saints have led this category for the last 5 weeks and have gone 3 – 2 in terms of the over in those games. This has been partly due to competition and this week they get the Stafford and Megatron show coming into town. While that duo hasn’t done too much this season, the exception was Thanksgiving Day and DC*3PO shows that combo breaker should produce over 60 fantasy points this Monday night. In our Absolute’s post yesterday, we showed why Drew Brees should be a strong consideration for QB this week as he will be owned by less than 7% of the field and he is the top projected QB for the week. Another #Sleeper to consider is Tim Hightower as the Lions will give up at least one rushing TD in this game and Hightower is the clear guy at this point.

  • Passing Defense to Exploit:  New York Giants projected (287.02)
  • Rushing Defense to Exploit:  Miami projected (129.49)
  • Overall Defense to Exploit:  New Orleans projected (403.6)

What does this mean for your daily fantasy selections? You have 4 options for QB this weekend and those are Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees and Matt Stafford. At WR, your considerations based on Matchup are Maclin, Ted Ginn Jr., John Brown & Calvin Johnson. At TE, beyond Gronkowski, there is Ben Watson or Richard Rodgers. At RB, while Miami is projected to give up the most, San Diego doesn’t run the ball so could you take Woodhead, sure but Hightower, Adrian Peterson, Jeremy Hill and Lamar Miller are the top RB plays this weekend. At defense, it’s Seattle at home against Manziel or the Chiefs against whoever the Ravens play at QB this week.

Teaching You How to #Win – Heavy Favorites/Top Over-Under/Matchups to Exploit Week 14

Heaviest Favorites

As of today, the heaviest favorites for the week are as follows:

  • Kansas City -11.5 over San Diego
  • Arizona -9.5 over Minnesota
  • Carolina -8.5 over Atlanta

For the top projected blowout for this weekend we have the Chiefs over the Chargers and really why not right. The Chiefs might be playing the best ball in the NFL if it weren’t for the Panthers right now and they just destroyed the Chargers a couple of weeks ago in San Diego. Look for this game to be another big game for the Chiefs and I like the play of Alex Smith along with Jeremy Maclin as a nice combo. In the second game we have the Thursday night matchup of the Cardinals and the Vikings. For this game you must play Carson Palmer and another play that I like is David Johnson. Johnson gave you a 20 spot last week with a salary under $4,000 on DraftKings and while his salary did go up, it is still on the cheap end of the spectrum. The other thing to keep in mind for this game is all of the injuries that the Vikings are dealing with on the defensive side of the ball. For the last matchup we have the Panthers and the Falcons. These two teams couldn’t be playing differently and in a normal situation you would say that the Panthers should destroy the Falcons but this is a divisional game. Just like last week, the Saints gave the Panthers a game to the bitter end and that will most likely be the case again this week. Look for the Panthers to hit a late field goal for the win but an outcome of 24 – 21. For your fantasy team, this means Cam Newton should be considered, along with Greg Olsen for the Panthers. For the Falcons, I still like Julio Jones as a top 5 WR this week and Freeman is still bringing in 20 fantasy points per game even with the offensive woes the Falcons have been going through of late.

Top Overall Game Over/Under

Raymond James Stadium_headshots_originalThe highest projected contest this week the Saints and Bucs, coming in at 50.5 points. The Saints topped this list last week and they didn’t disappoint as they gave up 41 points and managed to put up 38 of their own. Now they get the Bucs in Tampa and look for another shootout in the NFC south. The combination of Seferian-Jenkins and Winston should be considered as the Saints are giving up a league high to the QB at just over 26 points per game and just over 20 points per game to the TE position, also being the most in the league. The Saints also manage to give up just over 26 points to the RB1 position, which also leads the league so a Doug Martin play should also be considered.

  • Passing Defense to Exploit:  New York Giants projected (301.87)
  • Rushing Defense to Exploit:  Cleveland Browns projected (131.87)
  • Overall Defense to Exploit:  New York Giants projected (420.87)

What does this mean for your daily fantasy selections, simply put, take Jarvis Landry combined with Ryan Tannehill and Lamar Miller this week. The Giants cannot stop anyone right now and even though Miami doesn’t possess the type of juggernaut offense that some of the teams in the NFL have these days, they can still put up points in a hurry. Another sleeper running back that should be considered based on this information is Shaun Draughn. He has had good production of late and the Browns will give up a ton in the run game, look for this to continue.
