DiRTy Plays – Monday 5 Point Play

The Lineup Analzyer is in full affect now, just click here to check it out! Now, I will walk you through 5 key points and end with The DiRT Canon top lineup for both FanDuel and DraftKings, along with the lineup analysis for you to consider tonight!

Point 1 – Value Plays:

  • Point Guard – Jordan Clarkson is our top value play with a value on DraftKings of -1.14 and for FanDuel, Cory Jospeh has a value of -1.14.
  • Shooting Guard – Kyle Korver leads our value play at SG with a FanDuel value of +1.84 and on DraftKings a -0.31. He is a strong consideration for value tonight.
  • Small Forward – P.J. Tucker is our leader with a -.95 on FanDuel value and, Giannis Antetokounmpo is -3.25 on DraftKings.
  • Power Forward – Gorgui Dieng is our top value for FanDuel at -1.92 and, Patrick Patterson on DraftKings is at -4.61.
  • Center – Jordan Hill leads this category with a -2.61 value on FanDuel and Jared Sullinger is -2.65 on DraftKings; Sullinger is a strong play with Oliynk out for the next 3-4 weeks, he will see extended time on the floor with a nice matchup tonight.

I wanted to add some additional value player to our list today as these players are within our variance threshold but also have a projection of at least 30 fantasy points for tonight. This should help you with your player selection for tonight as these are guys with great matchups and should have solid performances relative to their assigned salary. Those players are as follows:

  • Point Guard – Ricky Rubio is our top projected PG from a value perspective with a projection of 32.2 on FanDuel and Jordan Clarkson with a 30.66 on DraftKings.
  • Shooting Guard – Khris Middleton leads this category at 40.50 projection on DraftKings and a value of -2.7 where on FanDuel his projection is 37.41 and a -2.49.
  • Small Forward – Giannis Antetokounmpo is our top SF from a value perspective with a FanDuel projection of 36.69 and on DraftKings, he has a projection of 39.35 tonight.

Point 4 – Key Injuries:

  • injuryChris Paul: UPDATE: Paul left Saturday’s loss to Golden State with a thigh injury but is expected to be OK, reports.
  • Kyrie Irving: UPDATE: Irving is dealing with an illness and will not return to Sunday’s game against the Thunder, Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com reports. If he doesn’t go, look for Delledova to get the start.
  • Dwayne Wade: UPDATE: Wade (knee) is listed as a game-time decision for Monday’s tilt with the Pacers, Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post reports.
  • Chris Bosh: UPDATE: Bosh (calf) will not play in Monday’s game against the Pacers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. With him sidelined again, look for Deng to play high minutes.
  • George Hill: UPDATE: Hill is listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Heat with a right elbow sprain, the team announced.
  • Andrew Bogut: UPDATE: Bogut (Achilles) is listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Hawks, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
  • Tyson Chandler: UPDATE: Chandler (shoulder) is considered doubtful for Monday’s game against the Clippers, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reports.
  • Jared Bayless: UPDATE: Bayless (knee) has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Lakers, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
  • John Henson: UPDATE: Henson (back) is listed as out for Monday’s game against the Lakers, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Point 5 – Absolutes:

This information is based on the overall projection of each player as well as the opponent they are playing against. We combine those factors and determine the best plays broken down by salary range. To get a full copy of this report for DraftKings click here, for FanDuel click here.

  • The top overall #AbsoluteMustHave is LeBron James for both sites tonight as he has the best matchup, value and projection combo for tonight.
  • The top overall #AbsoluteNotable is Andrew Wiggins for both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight as his mid range salary makes him a strong consideration in all formats.
  • The top overall #AbsoluteSleeper is Zach LaVine on DraftKings with Tristan Thompson leading this category for FanDuel.

DraftKings Lineup Consideration

DK_LAFor DraftKings tonight, we have some interesting matchups but when looking at overall performance the games to really take advantage of are going to be the Bucks against the Lakers and then the Boston and T-Wolves game. In this lineup we have 7 of our 8 roster spots coming from these two games as the key players for each team matchup well with what the opposing defenses end up giving up. Thomas leads this group as our top chalk play and he is coming off a 49 point performance against Denver on Sunday. Next we have Middleton and Antetokoumnpo, who both have been playing lights out but are relatively unknown, even in the fantasy community which means they should have low ownership. This will be key given the fact that there is a 100k 1st place top prize in the $3, Sharpshooter contest tonight. Next we have Julius Randle at PF and Jared Sullinger at Center. Both players have been consistently hitting that 30 point marker and both should see plenty of playing time tonight. We finish this lineup with Kyle Korver, Marcus Morris and Ricky Rubio. All three should combine for approximately 110 fantasy points tonight and with the bonuses that DraftKings has in their scoring system, these are all strong plays for either 3 point makes or in Rubio’s case, a double-double.

FanDuel Lineup Consideration

FD_LAFor our top FanDuel lineup, we are not only looking at the top projection but also looking for the trend of the team and in doing so we have identified a lineup that has been averaging over 300 points over their last 5 games. This is key as you look to build your lineup as you want to ensure that not only is their a high enough projection for tonight but what has this team been doing. In this particular lineup we also have a top score for this lineup of 445 points. That always needs to be at least 400, otherwise, your likelihood of hitting a bit amount in a main contest is pretty unlikely. In breaking down this lineup, we have two Heat players of Deng and Dragic as both have been playing well and with Bosh definitely out tonight and Wade listed as questionable, these two are must plays even though their projections might not be as high as you would like. Next we have Jordan Clarkson, who has been lights out of late and will continue to do so as long as he plays 30+ minutes per game. At the SG, we have Wiggins and Middleton tonight as Middleton should lead all SG’s tonight. Alongside Deng, we are going to roll with Antetokounmpo as he has torched the Lakers in every game he has played against them, including a 50 point fantasy night. At the PF, we have Tristan Thompson, who is starting at Center for the Cavs and since that move has almost averaged a double-double and his PF companion is Gorgui Dieng. Dieng still has too much value to be ignored and he will get at least 30 fantasy points tonight. At Center, we are rolling with The DiRT Canon top projected center of DeAndre Jordan but you will have enough cap for any center that you would like with this lineup so if you want to go with Towns, you will have the room to afford him as well.

Absolute Player Breakdown

AbsolutesThe DiRT Canon Absolute Player Breakdown is a compilation of information that utilizes a custom segmentation of salary for both FanDuel and DraftKings. The three categories that are used for analysis purposes are #AbsoluteMustHave, #AbsoluteNotable & #AbsoluteSleeper. These categories use the following salary ranges:

  • $7,000 & Above = MustHave
  • $5,200 – $6,900 = Notable
  • Under $5,200 = Sleeper

Players that are considered to be MustHave’s that top this list are the equivalent of Chalk plays for today’s contests. We breakdown these items for each position knowing that you won’t be able to take all of these players but this will give you the best chance to ensure you have selected from the projected top players for today. As we move into the Notable category, now this is where you separate from cashing and from losing. The need for at least 3 players in this category means that you have to ensure you take the guys that typically average between 25 fantasy points per game and 33 fantasy points per game, that have the highest chance of going for 40 points or more tonight. The sleeper category is where you now look to separate from the bottom of the cash pile to the top of the cash pile. For daily NBA contests, this usually means finding the guy(s) who have a higher point per minute than the average and are expected to play more minutes, either because of injury to other players or their average minutes played per game is trending up.

Projection-2-Spend Breakdown

Proj2SpendThe next set of information that should be reviewed are the value plays for today’s games. Most fantasy sports information sites have their own value system, which takes their projection and divides that by the assigned salary. Here at The DiRT Canon, we go above and beyond standard metrics that really don’t give you much information and instead we look to provide a more in-depth analysis of value. In processing the results of thousands of contests at all levels of entry fees, The DiRT Canon, has been able to identify the minimum winning score on average, weighting several factors such as number of games played, overall rank of teams playing, Vegas odds, projected over-under scores and much more in order to forecast the needed score to win tonight. This will be further provided in future releases to our customers and to sign up just click here and enter Promo code WIN.

Now that we have the projected score needed to win, we can now look at the assigned salary in order to determine the Needed Points, that each player will need to achieve in order to be worth the assigned salary for each daily fantasy site. Then we take our Overall DiRT Canon projection and subtract that value from the Needed Points in order to determine if that player has value or not. When you are able to identify players that have high average fantasy points per game and are of value for today’s games, these are the strongest plays you can find. When you have lower salaried players with high variances in this area, these are also players that should be considered in building your lineup.

Daily Projections

DailyProjThis analysis is as straight forward as it gets from us. This is our daily projection for players that are eligible for contests tonight. This information is broken down by position so you are able to quickly identify the players that have the highest projection. The one factor that The DiRT Canon brings to the table that no one else considers is the fact that we have a projection that is based on the Last 5 games, Last 10 games, Full Season and the we have a custom Overall Projection. At a glance this will give you a trending perspective for each player that visually you are able to determine who you should select.

These Things I Think Tuesday – #GroundhogDay Edition

1.

Un-Sink-able Levi Stadium:

Will the turf at Levi’s Stadium swallow a player during Sunday’s Super Bowl the way it nearly did with Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker in a game earlier this season?

The NFL’s playing-surface guru says no way.

“I think we’re in great shape,” Ed Mangan, the league’s field director, said in a phone interview Monday.

The field has had its issues during Niners’ home games. Tucker missed a key field goal attempt during the Ravens’ loss to the 49ers in October when the turf gave way beneath him and his left leg slipped on the kick.

2.

Opening Night…

I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but there’s a football game scheduled for Sunday. The game isn’t set to be played for another six days, but, really, Monday night marked the beginning of Super Bowl 50.

Welcome to Opening Night of Super Bowl 50, formerly known as Media Day, where seemingly half of the West Coast’s population congregated on Monday night.

The press certainly showed up.

So did Katy Perry’s dancing shark pal.

And so did the players, from the quarterbacks — Peyton Manning and Cam Newton — to the outspoken cornerbacks — Aqib Talib and Josh Norman. If you missed Opening Night, we’ve got you covered.

3.

No Sunset Yet…

There was no hiding for Peyton Manning. Faced with the prospect of sitting at a podium for an hour on Media Day at Super Bowl 50, Manning was locked into getting questioned about his potential retirement in the wake of comments to Bill Belichick about his “last rodeo.”

His only real defense? Humor.

3.

Free and Risky WiFi…

The free high-speed wireless Internet access being offered at Super Bowl 50 events is “very likely” to attract significant cyber threats, according to the FBI’s cyber threat assessment.

An FBI document obtained by CBS San Francisco warns that hackers could target open Wi-Fi networks at the events.

“Open Wi-Fi is just that, it means that there is no security on the Wi-Fi system, they need to realize whatever they are sending out there, it can be viewed by others,” said Jeff Harp, a former FBI agent and CBS San Francisco security analyst.

4.

He Gone…

The room was dark and there was a table in front of him. That much Justin Tuck remembers about his dream. That and what was written on the sheet of paper that slid in front of him.

Tuck’s dreams are usually nonsensical. This one, though, was poignant and perhaps an answer to his prayers for guidance. Though he’s not sure who passed him the note, he’s perfectly clear about what was written on it.

Retire.

No Thanks…

The Phoenix Suns have strong interest in former star guard Steve Nash for their coaching vacancy, but Nash is not interested in going into full-time coaching at this time, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN that Suns owner Robert Sarver, even before firing Jeff Hornacek early Monday morning after the team’s overnight arrival in Phoenix following a four-game road trip, has had Nash high on his list of potential targets to take over the team.

DiRTy Plays – Tuesday 5 Point Play

In recapping last night’s performance, if you followed our secret sauce, you would have been in the top 500 out of 180,000 entries on FanDuel and just as good within DraftKings. The key takeaways were our value playes of Hawes and Ariza, then Cousins & Rondo as our combo players. Then having T.Thompson, who put up a nice double-double last night with Towns on DraftKings and you have a pile of cash to play with tonight. Now that you have all the information at your fingertips, it’s time to build your lineups for today. I will walk you through 5 key points and end with The DiRT Canon top lineup for both FanDuel and DraftKings, along with the lineup analysis for you to consider tonight!

Point 1 – Value Plays:

  • The top overall value play for tonight is Jose Calderon. He has been averaging 20.2 over his last 5 and having had a couple of 30 point games over his last 10 with a strong matchup tonight.
  • The second value play for tonight is going to be Wesley Matthews. An unsung player who hits a ton of three’s, making him very viable on DraftKings, look for Matthews to continue his hot streak with another 30 fantasy points tonight.
  • The third value play for tonight is Tyson Chandler. We were going to have Chandler Parsons here as he does have considerable value but when looking for a cheap play tonight, Tyson Chandler should be an automatic double-double tonight and should put up at least 30 fantasy points again tonight.

Point 2 – Positional Breakdown:

Below is the average fantasy points per position for both FanDuel and DraftKings based on the minimum winning score for each site. This should give you an order to your lineup selection process.

FanDuel_

  • Point Guard – 35.9/player (71.8 total points)
  • Shooting Guard – 33.35/player (66.7 total points)
  • Small Forward – 27.05/player (54.1 total points)
  • Power Forward – 32.1/player (64.2 total points)
  • Center – 58.1/player (58.1 total points)

The average winning score over the past 7 days has been 314.9 total points. With Center leading that production, keep in mind that Cousins is listed as a Center on FanDuel and he had another massive performance yesterday making this position when considering who is available for tonight really mean you can only take Cousins here. Shooting guard did have a slight come back with Harden putting up solid numbers yesterday but in order for tonight after Cousins, you should go PG, PF, SG, SF. At SF if you are taking Durant or Melo as your chalk play, then you will need to be sure to get two solid mid play guys at PG tonight such as Carter-Williams and Jordan Clarkson.

draftkings

  • Point Guard – 41.9/player (2.3 PG’s per winning lineup)
  • Shooting Guard – 39.2/player (2.04 SG’s per winning lineup)
  • Small Forward – 27.4/player (1.28 SF’s per winning lineup)
  • Power Forward – 44.9/player (1.46 PF’s per winning lineup)
  • Center – 30.1/player (1.01 C’s per winning lineup)

As you should already know, the bonus plays for 3pt makes along with double-doubles and triple-doubles, the wing players should be more predominately selected in your DraftKings lineup process. Identifying players that have the best chance for hitting these thresholds, should be in your consideration moving forward. It should be noted that it is almost non-existent to have two C’s on your winning lineup.

Point 3 – Big Play Potential:

  • The top 3 players in terms of projected 3pt’s made tonight are Paul George, JJ Reddick & Kevin Durant
  • The top 3 players in terms of projected double-doubles are DeMarcus Cousins, Tyson Chandler & Chris Paul
  • The top 3 players in terms of projected triple-double are Chris Paul (31.6% chance), DeMarcus Cousins & Rajon Rondo

As you can see Chris Paul & DeMarcus Cousins should be considered for your chalk plays tonight!

Point 4 – What Contest should I play:

  • The top contest to play on DraftKings tonight is the $5 NBA 50k zone as that contest has shown an average winning score of only 279.6 over the last 2 weeks. You should also double down with the $5 Massive Double Up and the $3 Sharpshooter contest.
  • The top contest to play on FanDuel tonight is the $20K Tue NBA Block (Single Entry) as this contest has had the lowest average winning score on Tuesday night’s this season at only 291.8 fantasy points needed to win this contest.

In this section, we will identify the contest that has the lowest score to win combined with opportunity for you to make the big bucks each day. We will also hedge this contest with another option if the contest is a main contest.

Point 5 – Absolutes:

  • The top overall #AbsoluteMustHave is DeMarcus Cousins. I mean look, all this guy has done is average over 62 fantasy points in his last 5 games. Chalk play!
  • The top overall #AbsoluteNotable for DraftKings is Michael Carter-Williams for tonight. He didn’t have much in his last game against Orlando but Orlando has been giving up a ton of points of late and Williams has been solidly around 30 fantasy points per game over his last 5 games.
  • The top overall #AbsoluteSleeper for is Tyson Chandler. He has averaged 30.12 fantasy points per game over his last 5 games including one game in which he put up 60.75.

DraftKings Lineup Consideration

DK_lineupanalyzer

As you can see we are going with Cousins again tonight alongside our triple-double threat of Chris Paul. We are surrounding these guys with a ton of high value and upside with Goodwin, Calderon and Tyson Chandler. Then we are adding Wesley Matthews and Chandler Parsons as they have a solid matchup against the Lakers tonight. This lineup should reach our 280 threshold with ease tonight and with a ceiling at 447, this is very high upside potential. The only play in this lineup that is “iffy” tonight is TJ Warren. He has been a roller coaster this season but with the 76ers on the docket that usually bodes well for offensive production and so he will get his shot at playing time tonight. If the game gets out of hand, look for Warren to shoot it a ton as our gut call has him putting up 25 fantasy points tonight.

FanDuel Lineup Consideration
FD_LineupAnalyzerWith Cousins at Center tonight, we wanted to go with a solid back court of Clarkson and MCW. Khris Middleton has been highly productive of late and is averaging over 36 fantasy points per game over his last 5 contests. This means score and score often for Middleton. Omri Casspy will be highly owned tonight with Rudy Gay missing action tonight and Casspy expected to regain his starting role. In games where Gay hasn’t played Casspy has only gone under 30 fantasy points in 1 of 8 of those games so he should be a solid play at SF tonight. Ibaka is the most sure thing guarantee we can give you at PF tonight and we are going to combine him with Nerlans Noel but Chris Bosh and Porzingis are also strong secondary plays for the PF position tonight.

Steph Curry and the dominant Warriors aren’t just beating teams anymore, they’re throwing staggering knockout punches against the NBA’s best – make that second-best.

In a span of eight days, Golden State have 30-point wins over Cleveland, Chicago and San Antonio. Curry scored 37 points and hit six three-pointers in three scintillating quarters Monday night, and the reigning champions showed they still rule the West by routing the Spurs 120-90.

“No moment’s too big, obviously,” Curry said. “We know this is just another regular-season game, but there was some hype around it. Every time we have an opportunity to prove who we are and take another step in the journey, we’re ready for it. It wasn’t always that way. This core has been together for a while and understands how to mentally prepare for nights like this.”……(Continue Reading: Gregg Popovich: Warriors’ slaughter of Spurs was ‘like men and boys’ | The Guardian)

+ Warriors win the first round of 2015-16 duel with Spurs

In a highly anticipated matchup, Stephen Curry (37 points) and the Warriors coasted by the Spurs, 120-90, in what was the first matchup in NBA history between two teams with winning percentages of .830 or higher (minimum 40 games played for each team). Golden State’s 30-point victory soundly ended the Spurs’ 13-game winning streak. That’s the third largest margin of victory against an opponent with a winning streak of at least 13 games entering the matchup. The Knicks defeated the Mavs, 128-94, in March 2010, ending a 13-game streak, and the Magic routed the Rockets, 114-82, in March 1991, stopping a Houston winning streak at 13.

+ Cousins with another huge game

DeMarcus Cousins scored 56 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Kings’ double-overtime loss to the Hornets on Monday. Cousins, who totaled 48 points and 13 rebounds in his last game on January 23, is the fourth player with at least 100 points and 25 rebounds in consecutive games over the last 40 years. Michael Jordan did so in March 1990 (118 points and 30 rebounds; the first of the two games was his 69-point performance against the Cavaliers), David Robinson in April 1994 (100 points and 30 rebounds; he scored 71 points in the second of the two games), and Antawn Jamison accomplished this feat in December 2000 as a member of the Warriors (102 points and 27 rebounds).

Cousins’ 104 points over his last two games are the most for any player in Kings history; the previous high was 92 points by Oscar Robertson in February 1965 (when the franchise was known as the Cincinnati Royals). The last player with 100 points over a two-game span wasKobe Bryant in March 2007, netting 110 points.

+ A rare 50-point and 20-assist pairing

As though DeMarcus Cousins‘ 56-point performance was not enough, his Kings teammate Rajon Rondo dished out 20 assists in Sacramento’s overtime loss to the Hornets. It’s just the fourth game in NBA history in which one player scored at least 50 points and his teammate had at least 20 assists. The first such game was on March 2, 1962, in Wilt Chamberlain‘s 100-point game for the Warriors versus the Knicks; his teammate Guy Rodgers had 20 assists. And just under a year later, Chamberlain and Rodgers were at it again; Chamberlain scored 54 points and Rodgers totaled 20 assists for the Warriors against the Royals on March 1, 1963. The third instance was on February 10, 1998, when the Wizards’ Tracy Murray (50 points) and Rod Strickland (20 assists) did so versus the Warriors. In all three of those prior instances, the 50-point/20-assist team won the game.

+ A first for three young players

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 26 points, Zach LaVine added 21 points, and Andrew Wiggins had 20 of his own in the Timberwolves’ loss to the Cavaliers on Monday night. Towns, LaVine, and Wiggins, all 20 years old, are the first trio of teammates under 21 years old to put up at least 20 points in the same game in NBA history. Only one other trio did so at 21 years or younger: Kevin Durant (21 years old), Russell Westbrook (21), and James Harden (20) for the Thunder against the Wizards on November 20, 2009.

Towns also grabbed 11 rebounds, becoming the first rookie with at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in a game against LeBron James.

Wait A Second…

MLBPipeline.com will unveil its 2016 Top 100 Prospects list on Friday on MLB.com. The Top 50 will be revealed during a one-hour show on MLB Network at 9 p.m. ET. Leading up to the release, we look at baseball’s Top 10 prospects at each position. There has been quite a bit of turnover from last year to the 2016 edition of the Top 10 second-base prospects, with six new names joining the list, thanks to two graduations and four who dropped off the list. Scouting reports, grades, stats and video on Prospect Watch……(Continue Reading: Prospect Watch: Top 10 second basemen for 2016 | MLB.com)

Helping The Homeless…

With the Mets bringing back Yoenis Cespedes, most of baseball’s big-name free agents are off the board.

That doesn’t mean the cupboard is bare, however. There are many players left who could help plenty of teams.

Still, finding a spot at this point in the game of musical chairs is a challenge. Many clubs have filled their vacancies and/or reached their budgetary limits.

Pitchers and catchers are now less than a month from reporting, which means time is running out for the stragglers to sign before their unemployment lags into Spring Training. With that in mind, let’s spend other people’s money and see if we can find a home for 10 of the top players remaining on the market……(Continue Reading: Let’s play matchmaker for MLB players still unsigned.)

Where There’s A Will There’s An Elway…

If Peyton Manning soon has the option to pull a John Elway and end a Hall of Fame-bound quarterbacking career in the glorious aftermath of a Super Bowl triumph, it will be because Elway provided him with a team capable of making it happen.

But few people in the room deserved more credit than the quarterback already enshrined in Canton who…...(Continue Reading: John Elway has put Peyton Manning in position to follow in his footsteps – The Washington Post)

Get Over Yourself…

Seattle fans are still upset about something the Carolina Panthers QB did to the 12th man flag. Nevermind the crouch-grabber on your own team Seattle Fan.  Cam Newton has long moved on from thinking about the Seattle Seahawks, the team his Carolina Panthers beat two playoff rounds ago before beating the Arizona Cardinals last weekend to reach the Super Bowl.

Angry Seahawks fans have not forgot about Cam, though. #Stalker #StayClassy

A Look Back…

Even though the Bears were 10-point favorites, the New England Patriots approached Super Bowl XX in New Orleans with confidence.

“We’ve been underdogs all year,” cornerback Raymond Clayborn said a few days before the game. “I accept it. We’ll go out and beat the Bears just like we beat everybody else. Do football players pay attention to the spread? We notice it. But we have confidence in ourselves.”……(Continue Reading: Pats thought they’d win Super Bowl XX)

January 25, 2016

DiRTy Plays – Monday 5 Point Play

Now that you have all the information at your fingertips, it’s time to build your lineups for today. I will walk you through 5 key points and end with The DiRT Canon top lineup for both FanDuel and DraftKings, along with the lineup analysis for you to consider tonight!

Point 1 – Value Plays:

  • The top overall value play for tonight is Spencer Hawes. With Zeller expected to miss another week or so and the other injuries to the front line of the Hornets, look for Hawes to see more playing time and he shouldn’t see much of a spike in salary.
  • Norris Cole is our second value play for tonight. He looks to remain in the starting lineup for the Pelicans and with his added playing time he has averaged 25.2 fantasy points per game over his last 2 games.
  • Our 3rd value play for tonight is Trevor Ariza. With Dwight Howard expected to miss another game with his ankle injury, the beneficiary has been Ariza. He scored 41 fantasy points last night and should see over 30 minutes again tonight, with a favorable matchup.

Point 2 – Positional Breakdown:

Below is the average fantasy points per position for both FanDuel and DraftKings based on the minimum winning score for each site. This should give you an order to your lineup selection process.

FanDuel_

  • Point Guard – 37.5/player (75 total points)
  • Shooting Guard – 31.4/player (62.8 total points)
  • Small Forward – 28.6/player (57.2 total points)
  • Power Forward – 38.9/player (77.8 total points)
  • Center – 42.3/player (42.3 total points)

The average winning score over the past 7 days has been 315.1 total points. With Center leading that production, keep in mind that Cousins is listed as a Center on FanDuel and he has posted two games over 60 in the last week. Shooting guard has been down almost 7 points per player in the last 7 days.

draftkings

  • Point Guard – 41.6/player (2.3 PG’s per winning lineup)
  • Shooting Guard – 38.6/player (2.04 SG’s per winning lineup)
  • Small Forward – 29.4/player (1.28 SF’s per winning lineup)
  • Power Forward – 41.9/player (1.46 PF’s per winning lineup)
  • Center – 32.6/player (1.01 C’s per winning lineup)

As you should already know, the bonus plays for 3pt makes along with double-doubles and triple-doubles, the wing players should be more predominately selected in your DraftKings lineup process. Identifying players that have the best chance for hitting these thresholds, should be in your consideration moving forward. It should be noted that it is almost non-existent to have two C’s on your winning lineup.

Point 3 – Big Play Potential:

  • The top 3 players in terms of projected 3pt’s made tonight are Steph Curry, James Harden & Trevor Ariza
  • The top 3 players in terms of projected double-doubles are Andre Drummond, DeMarcus Cousins, Chris Bosh
  • The top 3 players in terms of projected triple-double are Draymond Green, Rajon Rondo & James Harden

As you can see James Harden should be considered for one of your chalk plays tonight!

Point 4 – What Contest should I play:

  • The top contest to play on DraftKings tonight is the $3 sharpshooter with 100k going to first place. For winning consistency you should also play the $5 Massive Double-Up.
  • The top contest to play on FanDuel tonight is the $5K Mon NBA Assist #2 (Single Entry) as this contest has had the lowest average winning score on Monday night’s this season at only 294.6 fantasy points needed to win this contest.

In this section, we will identify the contest that has the lowest score to win combined with opportunity for you to make the big bucks each day. We will also hedge this contest with another option if the contest is a main contest.

Point 5 – Absolutes:

  • The top overall #AbsoluteMustHave is Steph Curry for tonight. He should be looking to make a statement against the Spurs tonight but at home Curry has been lights out this season, going for over 50 in all but 2 games.
  • The top overall #AbsoluteNotable for DraftKings is Karl Anthony-Towns. He has been highly productive over the past 10 games and should eclipse 35 fantasy points again tonight. For FanDuel we have Jrue Holiday as he leads the group off the bench for the Pelicans.
  • The top overall #AbsoluteSleeper for is Dennis Schroeder. Crazy to think this but he has outplayed Teague this season and in fact has been averaging a bit more time on the court because of it. Look for at least 28 fantasy points out of him again tonight with the Hawks, playing the Nuggets awful defense tonight.

DraftKings Lineup Consideration

DK_LineupAnalyzer

As you can see we are going with Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins for tonight’s chalk plays as they have the highest projection per point with favorable matchups. David West is expected to see more playing time with Duncan missing tonight. Another key player for tonight should be Marc Gasol. Look for him to score over 40 fantasy points again tonight. Marcus Smart and Evan Turner have a strong matchup with one of the top 3 projected over/under games tonight. That means tons of scoring and Smart has averaged 30 fantasy points per game over his last 5 games. So his uptick is pointing in the right direction. Another item of note is the team’s max score for the current season. This is simply taking the highest value that a player has scored in a single game this season and then summing that for the team. This proves to be the ceiling for this team and if it is ever under 400, then you should reconsider your options.

FanDuel Lineup Consideration

FD_LineupAnalyzerWith Towns projected to be the 2nd best Center tonight to Cousins on FanDuel, look for him to widely taken or for most to look for value here and go with Hawes tonight. At PG we have Walker and Lin but it should be noted that John Wall should have a huge night at PG as well so if you wanted to insert him instead of Walker and go cheaper for Towns, that is a strong consideration. At SG, Butler is the solid play with him having more value over Harden but either is a great option combined with Avery Bradley who is trending in the right direction of late. We have our value play of Ariza and Thompson combined with Bosh as our top projected PF tonight, this lineup has been averaging just over 286 fantasy points per game over their last 5 games and is a great consideration for play tonight.

Teaching You How to #Win – Championship Sunday Lineups and Weather

Weather

draftkings

In both contests, it is expected to be around 40° and clear as such, it is not expected that either game will be affected by any weather. That said, in Denver, it is supposed to snow later in the evening and if you know Colorado, then you know that the weather can turn at any moment. If it does snow, that is a huge advantage for Brady. Aside from that, enjoy the games today and be sure to check back tomorrow as we will be releasing some of our NBA content beginning tomorrow. For more information just come here.

Lineup Considerations

Now for the part that we know you have all been waiting for, give me the lineup that will win. I know, I know, we have done this quite significantly in the past and now we have our lineup analyzer providing automatic lineup recommendations but what do I think. Here are my top 3 lineups on Draftkings:

Experts Picks

DK_lineups

On DraftKings, we have several key factors to consider in making your final NFL selections of the season but by far and away it’s all about the matchups. CJ Anderson has owned the Patriots and the Pats are giving up the most rushing yards per game of the teams left while the Broncos want to run the ball.  Edelman and Gronk have gone for at least 20 points against Denver in each of their last 3 games against them. Last you have Stewart, while Arizona is a tough defense and a great run stuffer, face it, J-Stew, went over a hundred yards on the Seahawks last week, who hadn’t given up a 100 yard rusher on the road in over 2 years. Now to take all of these guys you have to have a #Sleeper and for today, we are going to roll with Cory Brown as the extreme sleeper. While he might not pay huge dividends if he gets 10 fantasy points, your other players are going to ensure success for today. It should be noted that we do have one TE stack of Gronk and Olsen, which might be the best play for today!

FanDuel lineups for the week below:

Logan Cartwright’s Expert Picks

FD_Lineups

On FanDuel, we have a bit of a different story in that we are hedging at QB with a slight split for Gronk and Olsen, based on the QB for that lineup. As you can see it’s the Patriots defense across the board and that is really just because the Broncos offense hasn’t been very good with Manning this season and it is projected to be high scoring in Carolina. So we take the value pick here that has the best matchup in terms of which team has given up the most fantasy points to the opposing defense this season.
