Friday Night Fan Duel Frenzy Breakdown

FD_Daily

Fan Duel Daily Rankings

The Fan Duel Daily Rankings provides an in-depth analysis of each player in terms of who you need to look at within our Must Haves, Notables & Sleepers sections.  Click FD_Daily_Must-Sleeper-Notable_Rankings for the full report.

As you can see we project Anthony Davis to be the highest projected player on Fan Duel again tonight. To provide you with some detail and how to best utilize this information here are some things to consider.

Our Must Haves section is simply the highest projected player for each position. It is important to note that a player cannot be located in more than one category.  Moving onto our Notables section.  This section is defined as having only players with a salary between $5,200 and $8,000 where that players opponents average fantasy points per game against per position is the highest for tonight’s matchups.  Last we have our Sleepers section. In this section we simply provide you with the highest projected player with a salary under $5,200 for each position.

Absolute Must, Notable & Sleeper

FD_Absolute

The Absolute Player Breakdown will analyze players within three salary ranges. The ranges are $7,000 and up, $5,200 – $6,900 and under $5,200. Click FD_Absolute for the full report.

Within each of these ranges we rank the opponent of that player as it pertains to the fantasy points that opponent has given up over the last 5 games to that players position.  We then rank our projection for all players within that given salary range.  We add these two elements together and we get our overall rank of players within these categories.  The lowest score in that column provides you with the highest rated player within each of these salary ranges regardless of position.

This information is best used to identify your first three players. You can then come back to this report after using the daily report to find other players within each position in order to evaluate players with similar salaries in order to determine not only projection but the matchup they have tonight.

Salary Breakdown

Salary_Breakdown

The Salary Breakdown report will breakdown players within a subset of salary ranges that we have identified for salary cap purposes.  This breakdown will further allow for you to analyze players as you look to fill in those final slots of your lineup. Click Salary-Breakdown for the full report.

An example of the best method for use of this information is when you are stuck with trying to fill your last spot.  Say it is comes down to finding a player that can be no more than $6,000.  You already have a SG that is $6,000 and now you need a SF for $6,000. You would use this information in order to identify players in that price range that have the best matchup and projection for tonight. You might find a player that is $5,700 that has a better matchup and projection for your current SG that was $6,000 in order to get the best valued player at SF that cost $6,300.  This also gives you the ability to find players that have lower salaries that you should consider due to upside potential, projection and matchup.

Player Projection to Spend Analysis

FD_p2s

Our trademarked projection to spend metric is one our secret sauce elements in determining players for NBA fantasy.  This report will analyze the assigned salary, needed points that player will need to have in order for his value to meet or exceed his cost while identifying players that you need in order to hit that goal of 315 points overall. Click Fan_Duel_P2S_Ratio for the full report.

This is simple, the highlighted green elements have done the math and analysis for you.  These players have been identified as being players where their projection meets or exceeds the required fantasy point output that they need in order to be of value for your lineup.  When a player is close 0, even if they are slightly under, they are ones that you should be looking at to fill in your lineup as they will outperform the required point total they need.

For example, if you are going to spend $5,200 on a player and he is highlighted green within this report, that means this player is worth at least spending $5,200 or should cost more based on the expected output of that player.  For players that are at the bottom of this report, per position, will identify players that simply cost too much for what they need.  If you have been watching we have been notifying you that once players reach a certain salary threshold they are no longer worth having because the needed fantasy score is insurmountable.  Take Westbrook, he costs $13,300.  You need to score 315 to cash in 88% of tournaments on Fan Duel.  That means Westbrook would need to score 69.3 points in order for your spend of $13,300 to be worth it.

Lineup Analyzer

Lineup

Our lineup analyzer allows for you to take all of the key metrics and visually see them as they pertain to your lineup.  Click either of these lineups for the full report, FD_Lineup2 or FD_Lineup5 as we have selected 2 our our top 5 lineups for you to consider tonight.

The initial table will breakdown what this group of players has done over their last five games in our PPG column.  The opponent average points will identify the points that player is playing against tonight.  The opponent value takes the last five game minutes played per game average for the player and applies that to the overall points per game the opponent has given up over their last five games.

Last we have our projection, which has been within one standard deviation in terms of accuracy thus far.  When combining that with the opponent value, you now have an accurate view of who is likely to go off.  It should be noted that as of today we have not implemented our injury algorithm to this information.  That simply means, if you have a starter go down and in your lineup you are replacing that player with the backup, such as Vasquez or Haslam.  Our projection is not considering the inflated amount of time on the court that player will have tonight as such their projection would be considered a minimum expectation of that player.

DraftKings Breakdown

I am providing you with the same set of information for DraftKings NBA fantasy games below.  Please note, the only difference is that DraftKings has a slightly different scoring system that is already encompassed into each report and player breakdown including projections.  Just click the link for each report, analyze the information and put your lineup in tonight.  We are offering a Free Roll tonight on DraftKings just click here to be taken directly to the contest.  If you would like for us to analyze your finalized lineup prior to tip-off you will need to contact us and submit your lineup and we will run the lineup anlayzer report that we have provided herein based on a lineup we have put together.  We will also provide any recommendations, based solely on the data, for any players that have been identified as higher projections or more likely to have better production for smaller cost.

Tuesday Recap:

On an evening where we only had a few games to watch, they reminded of us of why these guys are the best in the world.  We started the action off with a thriller in Detroit, where the fans of the Raptors were just as loud as the fans for the home team at times.  Detroit came out blazing hot from three, while Pope and Jackson grasped an 18 point lead only to have it lost with less than 2 minutes left. Detroit pulled it out in the end as Toronto lost it’s All-Star again and was left with DeRozan carrying the team down the stretch.  Almost immediately thereafter, we had a buzzer beater in Milwaukee as they came back from down 12 with 5 minutes left in the game. The play of the game was not the shot to win the game but rather Bayless, stealing a tip from a jump ball to get the last position and then Pachulia saving the ball as it goes out of bounds on the missed layup, only to land in Middleton’s hands for the three ball.  Game over and the Heat lose a thriller.  Later in the night we had the Warriors come back from double digits in the second half to win by double digits in the end.  The game of the night in terms of scoring and excitement was from Philly and Sacramento.  The Kings gave up an amazing 70 points in the first half, to a team that only averages 91 per game.  They decided to play some defense in the second half and held the 76ers to 38 in the whole half and came back to win behind an a brilliant performance from Boogie Cousins.  He lead the league that was full of 45+fantasy point scorers last night with 70.9 on Fan Duel and 74.75 on DraftkingsLet’s breakdown our Absolute’s from yesterday. As predicted, Westbrook had a great night with 49.9 on Fan Duel and a 53.5 on DraftKings. That said he did not earn his value in salary and you could have had Clarkson for 50.3 for 40% of the cost. Look for our top projected player regardless of value for tonight below. Our DiRTCanon Analyzer had shown Westbrook projected with 48.9 and we were within 1 point again. Absolute Must Have on DraftKings was also Westbrook and he put up a season 53.5 compared to our projected 54, within .5 points. Now that is some accuracy folks. Our other Must Haves, Notables and Sleepers should have allowed for you score well over 300 but you needed to hit that mark of 330 on Fan Duel or 300 on DraftKings or you wouldn’t have cashed.  We ended the night in 1st place on DK out of 1,000 and at 339 out of 100584 on FD. Moving onto our Absolute Notable for Fan Duel was Enes Kanterwho has been a fantasy scoring machine of late, going for 30+ fantasy points in each of his last 10 games. DirtCanon Analyzer came in with a projection of 34.8 and his actual output was 49.7. Steven Adams topped our Absolute Notable for DraftKings with a projected total of 32.4 and his actual output was 38 as he combined with Kanter to destroy the Lakers up front. Absolute Sleeper, which on Fan Duel was predicted to be Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, coming in with a projection of 25.6 and his actual performance was 39.2. Zaza Pachulia lead our list for DraftKingsour Absolute Sleeper scored 50.25.  Look for this segment to further define your success playing daily NBA fantasy games. If you want the full list of complete projections for every player, each day you will need to subscribe with us so click here or follow us on Twitter @TheDiRTCanon, send a direct message to us and we will get you setup.

The definition for these respective categories is all based on the salary assigned to the individual for today’s games on both Fan Duel and DraftKings.  The Absolute Must Have category is designated for players with a salary above $7,000.  The Absolute Notable is for players that have a salary between $5,300 and $6,900.  Absolute Sleeper is defined as players that have a salary at or below $5,200.  We will be identifying the best player for these respective salary ranges each day and you should take all three of these individuals as they have the best matchup and the projection combination for the day.  You will then be able to review the next section where we outline some additional players to complete your lineup and finished off with a lineup to consider for each site.

Absolute Must Have

  • Anthony Davis – Projected with a 52.8 on Fan Duel and 55.6 on DraftKings he leads all players and is the highest projected player for the night.  He has the 2nd best matchup with an overall ranking of #1 in projection.  Other potentials here are going to be Westbrook, James and Cousins.  Each of them come at the high 40’s so any of them could go off tonight but can you take two of them on your lineup, look for our report of each position of Sleepers above.

Absolute Notable

  • Goran Dragic – He is the leader in this category for Fan Duel with a projection of 35.4. He has been scoring just behind D-Wade and should continue this bought with Whiteside potentailly out tonight and a Boston team giving up the 3rd most fantasy points to the PG position over their last 10 games.
  • Gorgui Dieng – Coming in with a projection of 37.4 on DraftKings tonight he is someone to consider.  He has the best matchup and highest projection for this salary range.  The Lakers also gave up 49.7, 35.5 and 18.6 to the frontline of OKC last night.

Absolute Sleeper

  • Trey Burke – With Utah coming on of late and let’s face Exum doesn’t score the basketball so Burke leads the second unit and is scoring at will. A projection of 27.0 on Fan Duel tonight makes him the Sleeper for both gaming sites.  It should be noted that Gordon Hayward is expected to be out again tonight so look for Burke and Favors to lead the team.  Also, Hood came down with an illness and probably won’t play tonight. For DraftKings we have him projected at 30.3.

***Fun fact, if you have two or more players with a salary of $4,000 or less score more than 28 points in a contest on Fan Duel you will cash 83.1% of the time.

Consider entering tonight’s NBA Contest here with this lineup and watch the dollars roll in:

***Fun fact, if you have 3 PG players in your lineup on DraftKings you will cash, in that tournament, 86.2% of the time.

Monday Recap:

Last night’s games brought us some intriguing matchups and some high fantasy point production from all positions last night.  To break it down we had James Harden lead all scorers with 63.3 on Fan Duel and 67 on Draftkings.  Other notable players are Rudy Gobert brought down 52+ fantasy points last night and Pau Gasol had over 55 fantasy points last night.  Evan Turner scored a season high of 49 fantasy points last night and George Hill was over 42 again. Let’s breakdown our Absolute’s from yesterday. As predicted, Harden lead all players in fantasy points with a 63.3 on Fan Duel and a 67 on DraftKings.  Look for our top projected player regardless of value for tonight below. Our DiRTCanon Analyzer had shown James Harden projected with 49.5 and while he did not meet our projection, it was over production with many folks out. Absolute Must Have on DraftKings was Wall and he put up a season low 24.5  Our other Must Haves, Notables and Sleepers should have allowed for you to win as we came in 2660th place out of 100583 and turned a $2 contest into $20 of profit.  Moving onto our Absolute Notable for Fan Duel was Gorgui Diengwho has been a blocking machine of late, going for 2+ blocks in 5 of 7 contests. DirtCanon Analyzer came in with a projection of 30.1 and his actual output was 29.5. Brook Lopez topped our Absolute Notable for DraftKings with a projected total of 37.5 and his actual output was 42 as he lead the game with 31 points scored. Absolute Sleeper, which on Fan Duel was predicted to be Langston Galloway, coming in with a projection of 26.1 and his actual performance was 35.9. Galloway was simply awesome for your Fan Duel lineup and so long as Shved is out look for this to continue. He had a slightly better performance on DraftKings our Absolute Sleeper scored 37.9.  Look for this segment to further define your success playing daily NBA fantasy games. If you want the full list of complete projections for every player, each day you will need to subscribe with us so click here or follow us on Twitter @TheDiRTCanon, send a direct message to us and we will get you setup.

Weekend Recap:

Over the weekend, I’m certain that most of you didn’t spend a ton of time watching the NBA as we were instead engaged in the NCAA’s most exciting 4 days of the year.  Yeah I said it, some might say bowl season for college football but I say it’s the first 2 games of the tourney in March.  It’s not only madness it is exhausting and exciting all at the same time.  We now know that 11 people picked the sweet sixteen correctly and so for most of you, you might still have a shot.  Now back to the NBA. What we did get from the NBA was a more clear picture of the elite teams throughout the league and who is throwing in the towel. We have LeBron James putting up 50+ fantasy points in every outing, coming down the stretch and Anthony Davis returned on Sunday to put up 26 points and 11 rebounds. With Davis back and Durant now out for the season, look for the Pelicans to overtake OKC in the 8th seed in the Western Conference. Even I, who literally watches every NBA game, had to turn the channel and watch some great college basketball yesterday.  It was not only madness it was simply insane.  Let’s breakdown our Absolute’s from the weekend. Out of nowhere, Gallinari lead all players in fantasy points with a 63.4 on Fan Duel and a 66.25 on DraftKings.  Look for our top projected player regardless of value for tonight below.  Our program predicted for Fan Duel the Absolute Must Have to be LeBron James last night.  Our DiRTCanon Analyzer had shown James projected with 55.5 and while he did not meet our projection, it was off by only .5 points, a late turnover. James finished with a total of 56 points.  Absolute Must Have on DraftKings was Andre Drummond and he put up a nice 57.4  Our other Must Haves, Notables and Sleepers should have allowed for you to win as we came in 26th place out of 54670 and turned a $2 contest into $150 of profit.  Moving onto our Absolute Notable for Fan Duel was Reggie Jacksonwho has been putting up almost triple-doubles in 4 of 5 contests continued on Sunday.  DirtCanon Analyzer came in with a projection of 38.5 and his actual output was 41.25. Alexey Shved topped our Absolute Notable for DraftKings with a projected total of 39.1 and his actual output was 17.5 as he left the game with a rib contusion. Absolute Sleeper, which on Fan Duel was predicted to be Marcus Morris, coming in with a projection of 28.2 and his actual performance was 38.6  Morris was simply awesome for your Fan Duel lineup and you combine him with great nights on back to back games.  Look for this to continue so long as he remains in the starting lineup with his twin brother.  He had a slightly better performance on DraftKings our Absolute Sleeper scored 41.25.  Look for this segment to further define your success playing daily NBA fantasy games. If you want the full list of complete projections for every player, each day you will need to subscribe with us so click here or follow us on Twitter @TheDiRTCanon, send a direct message to us and we will get you setup.

Notable Injuries

A ton of injuries for tonight so I am just going to bullet point them for you below. You should check back for updates prior to tip-off tonight or follow us on Twitter @TheDiRTCanon and we will be sending out tweets live 30 minutes prior to tip off and all night for all games that are going on.

  • Jimmy Butler is a GTD but look for him to come back later in the week
  • Gordon Hayward has a level 1 AC sprain and is listed as doubtful
  • Ricky Rubio is still dealing with an ankle injury and the T-Wolves are evaluating talent
  • Isaiah Thomas is out but could be back later in the week
  • Alexey Shved suffered a rib contusion last night and will probably sit tonight
  • Klay Thompson is out for 1 more week
  • Terrance Jones is out a minimum of 3 more games with a collapsed lung
  • Rodney Stuckey is doubtful with a calf strain
  • Nikola Pekovic is doubtful again with an ankle injury and will not play
  • Justin Hamilton is a GTD again with an illness (WHO KNOWS?!)
  • Gary Neal is out with an ankle injury

  • Brook Lopez – Projected with a 34.3 on Fan Duel with the #1 Matchup and #2 Projection, coming off two strong performances over the weekend and with Young stretching the floor, Lopez gets to stick close to the bucket.
  • John Wall comes in with a DiRTCanon Analyzer gives him a projection of 40.9 on DraftKings.  He has the 2nd best matchup with an overall ranking of #1 in projection.

Absolute Notable

  • Gorgui Dieng – He is the leader in this category for Fan Duel with a projection of 30.1. Assuming that Hamilton sits again, Neal is going to be out and Rubio will most likely sit the offense has to come from Martin and Wiggins but they will only account for about 45 of Minnesota’s expected 102.  Look for Dieng and Budinger to also contribute heavily tonight.
  • Brook Lopez – Yes, it is interesting the difference in cost here but Lopez comes in with a projected total of 37.5 on DraftKings tonight.

Absolute Sleeper

  • Langston Galloway – A projection of 26.1 Fan Duel means he can provide you with solid output from the point guard position with Shved most likely to sit out tonight’s game.
  • Jarrett Jack – Brooklyn simply has been scoring in bunches and they seem to go into OT every other game so look for Jack to contribute again tonight.  For DraftKings we have him projected at 29.8 tonight.

***Fun fact, if you have three or more players score more than 45 points in a contest on Fan Duel you will cash 95.3% of the time.

Consider entering tonight’s NBA Contest here with this lineup and watch the dollars roll in:

***Fun fact, if you have 4 players go for more than 40 DraftKings points you will cash, in that tournament, 91.4% of the time.
