1. Tenneseein’ Is Believin:

Colorblind viewers may not be the only ones unable to watch “Thursday Night Football” this week.

For the second week in a row, the NFL will force two of its teams to wear monochromatic uniforms as part of the league’s “color rush” initiative. This time, the matchup shouldn’t infuriate the colorblind. The Tennessee Titans dress up in a Smurf-like all-blue getup to take on the sepia-themed Jacksonville Jaguars.

Despite their 2-7 record, the Titans stand only two games out of the lead in the AFC South. While a second-half resurgence may seem unlikely, starting quarterback Marcus Mariota could help push the team into the conversation. Mariota has exceeded most of the external expectations for his rookie year, completing over 65 percent of his passes and averaging 8 yards per attempt. He also has a favorable 13:6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. The quarterback still exhibits occasional discomfort in the pocket, but his transition from Oregon’s spread system has gone better than anyone could have reasonably expected.

  • Guys to watch on #DraftKings for Tonight’s game, according to DC*3PO
    • Blake Bortles $5,900 – 17.9 – 46.3%
    • Marcus Mariota $5,300 – 17.9 – 9.7%
    • Allen Robinson $7,000 – 16.4 – 41.4%
    • Delanie Walker $4,800 – 14.5 – 65.8%
    • Allen Hurns $5,800 – 11.9 – 41.4%

2. Knights of Yarrr:

7:30p EST ESPN – ECU @ UCF

East Carolina‘s postseason dreams hang from a loose limb with two games to play, but the Pirates look to have quite a favorable matchup at a good time. Needing to win both games to break even for the season and clinch bowl eligibility, East Carolina must do so on the road Thursday night against a struggling UCF.

Struggling may be putting UCF’s status a bit too kindly, as the Knights have been a mess from start to finish this season. But can the Knights pull it all together just once and pick up their first win of the season, knocking ECU out of bowl consideration? Former Conference USA rivals will continue their series for the second time as members of the American Athletic Conference.……(continue reading)

3. Sioux-Flayed:

The University of North Dakota has been engaged in a search for a new nickname for the past year, after they decided to end a decade-long battle with the NCAA and at least one Native American tribe and give up their Fighting Sioux nickname. They solicited suggestions online and received thousands, many of them hilariously vulgar and subsequently rejected.  In September the quite serious nickname committee whittled the list down to five finalists: Fighting Hawks, Nodaks, North Stars, Roughriders, and Sundogs. A trademark troll also tried to hijack the process, to no avail…….(continue reading)

4. The Dwight Stuff

Remember when the Rockets were 7 games away from a title?  Remember how they “overcame” all those injuries and post-traumatically-stressed the Clippers?  It was a fun run that should never have happenned – feasting on hustle and belief leaves you malnurished.

But this year, it already feels like last year’s post-season was forever ago.  Ty Lawson still seems drunk as he sleepwalks thru games, Harden is shooting 37% and averaging almost as many turnovers as assists…nothing about any of this is new or a surprise.  The surprise is the team, the players, the city all expected more than they are getting and according to my sources, these are the facts:  Houston Stinks.

Throw in a little players’ only drama that leads to Kevin Mchale’s firing and you begin to wonder a few things.  Things like, James Harden will never be the man that leads any team to any victory, and more importantly, Dwight Howard is Charmin.  How does a man of championship pedigree like Kevin McHale become the fall guy?  This is beyond McHale, this IS about the players.  The guys on this team are professionals, at least paid as such, maybe not by attitude or desire.  That’s because they don’t care about winning basketball games – they care more about Kardashian’s and shoe contracts, etc…  Coaches at this level can not+do not coach desire – that’s the players’ responsibility.  The defending champs, the Warriors are undefeated without their coach and seem hungrier to win more than last year.  So what’s Houston’s excuse?  A bearded ball-hog and a big man who pretends to be Superman, but when the going gets tough, he’s more Clark Kent, without the potential.  At least, that’s my opinion, I could be wrong.

1. Dred Pirate Ryan’s Revenge:

Buffalo is 4-4 on the year with the 33-17 home victory last week to the Miami Dolphins. This broke a two game losing streak as the Bills produced 420 offensive yards with 266 rushing on 36 carries. Tyrod Taylor was 11 of 12, for 181 yards and a touchdown. Both Karlos Williams and LeSean McCoy combined for three rushing touchdowns and each had over 100 yards rushing. Bills allowed 397 yards to the Miami offense with 309 yards passing to Ryan Tannehill. The team is second best in the NFL in rush offense by running for 141.6 yards per game.

New York Jets improve to 5-3 with the 28-23 home victory last week to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jets had just 290 yards of offense with 29 running on 28 carries. Ryan Fitzpatrick hit 21 of 34 passes for 272 yards with two touchdowns. Jets benefitted by a +4 turnover margin and went 3 of 3 inside the red zone. They registered six sacks. New York allowed 436 yards to the Jacksonville offense with 381 yards passing with two touchdowns throws and two picks by quarterback Blake Bortles. The team is fourth in the NFL in total defense by allowing 323 yards per game.

  • Guys to watch on #DraftKings for Tonight’s game, according to DC*3PO
    • Tyrod Taylor $5,500 – 17.9 – 20%
    • Brandon Marshall $7,400 – 17.8 – 60%
    • Chris Ivory $5,900 – 17.2 – 60%
    • Ryan Fitzpatrick $5,100 – 16.7 – 52.5%
    • Eric Decker $5,300 – 13.8 – 65%

2. Ramblin’ Wreck:

7:30p EST ESPN – VaTech @ GaTech

For Frank Beamer, this is the beginning of the end.  It seems appropriate to start his brief farewell tour tonight in Atlanta.  Beamer used these non-traditional games to help draw attention to Virginia Tech as he was building the Hokies into a national powerhouse.  Over the years, Georgia Tech was often the opponent.  “That’s what this program is all about,” Beamer said. “It gave us our identity here that we were a total program and a football team that played hard and played well most of the time.”

In recent seasons, Virginia Tech (4-5, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) hasn’t won nearly enough. Since 2011, when the Hokies last played in the ACC championship game, they are 14-15 in league games and just 26-22 overall.  Feeling the heat, Beamer announced last week that this season, his 29th in Blacksburg, will be his last. About the only thing left to play for is the nation’s longest active streak of bowl appearances, which is at 22……(continue reading)

3. Bolder Boulder:

9:00p EST ESPN2 – USC @ CU
This is not quite the matchup it used to be.  It used to be for all the marbles.  Year in and year out, when these two teams played it was for more than just the division, or the conference – it was a national title playoff before the playoffs were invented in college football.  Sure the history has been tilted, but for the past decade – this has been THE GAME.  The Nation watched and….huh? what was that….Oh right LSU vs Alabama was last week – sorry about that, it’s been a long week trying to get over that beating, I might have a transitory concussion and have been admitted into the league’s protocol – as for this game, #CMonMan, just look at that guy in the picture – do you think that dude wins at anything besides panty-raids at the Goodwill for outfit ideas, while he jams out to his Britney Spears’ records?!

<-One Big Thing->

4. Generation of Youth Soccer

You know lately I find myself having an uncontrollable urge to smack our entire country upside it’s collective head.  Common sense isn’t dead, it’s been cremated and Snoop dawg is smokin’ its ashes in his lucky steelers’ shoe.  There is so little common sense that Thomas Paine might have enough steam coming out of his grave that it could power a Prius and a CU hipsters self-satisfaction

You cant get off an elevator without some wethead trying to spawn upstream before everyone else is trying to get off.

You cant get in your car and not run into another idiot who pulls into a gas station with the gas tank on the wrong side, to then get instruction from mission control, GPS navigation device to find out the proper side – or you cannot read online without reading about some moron getting smashed by a train, all because they had to rush home in time to make the walking dead or Sunday night HBO – regardless of this new technology called a DVR.

What the f*@# has happened to us?!  Is a chalk outline being slowly drawn around common sense?  Can ‘Murica identify the victim?  We went from a nation of hard-working-practical-minded-can-do-johnny-get-your-gun-rosie-riveter-bad-assess to a bunch of touchy-sniveling-butt-hurt-cry-babies who no longer can take it on the chin without bullying someone on twitter or running to their lawyer, or….

……Missouri student body prez Payton Head posts on Facebook that the KKK is on campus and that he is “working with” the National Guard, neither of which is true. He later sends out a post apologizing for the “misinformation,” explaining that he was reacting to rumors about the KKK being on campus (from whom? can you tell us who told you that?) but not explaining about the National Guard, because how can there be misinformation about a group you are working with when you are not exactly doing so?

Meanwhile, media reports that Melissa Click, (gal in picture) has resigned, although all she resigned from was an honorary post with the journalism school, and not from her actual gig.

Jonathan Butler sends out a list of DEMANDS — not requests — beginning with a demand that the president of Missouri’s university system apologize for his “white privilege.” Sure, as soon as Butler apologizes for his family having a net worth of more than $10 million (I’m low-balling that).

Facts no longer matter, of course, because a millennial has taken umbrage, and when that happens (and I have personal history with this), cities must be torched and lives destroyed. This is very little about race. It’s a lot more about a generation that has been coddled and indulged and led to believe that their sh*t — whether they turn it into a poop swastika or not — doesn’t stink. It Does! 1. Canadian Club

Chaos and self-destruction, is what is commonly viewed from the perches of the Coliseum.  A half-inning of baseball, the bottom of the 7th, took 53 minutes and went from riotous to invictus, with tension and emotion swung wildly like the swing that won the game.

SCENE: Rougned Odor is on 3rd and Shin-Soo Choo is at the plate – in the batters box – when Russell Martin attempts to throw the ball back to the pitcher, but instead hits Choo’s bat.  The umpire waves dead ball, the Blue Jays stop play and Odor scores.  The Umpires deliberated and concluded the run scored because:  Rule 6.01 (d) (3.15)
CRT_iHJUAAAU5jb

It was the right call, and after it was confirmed the fans went nuts.  One to many Mooseheads and Canadians can become some real Ugly Americans – who knew.  The Blue Jays said they’d play under protest and the Rangers forgot how to make 3 routine plays that would have ended the inning and instead let @joeybats19 park one into the same section Joe Carter did in ’93.  This is what #KarmicResponsibility is all about folks, and it’s all on the Texas Governor…(see #2)
  • The Bizarre (Legal) Play That Almost Started a Riot – When Russell Martin‘s throw back to the pitcher hit Shin-Soo Choo, and Rougned Odor raced home to score the go-ahead run, the pages of baseball’s rule book fluttered open across America and Canada. A stunned silence in the park hid the grinding of gears behind the masks, and in baseball’s offices — was that strange, strange play… legal?  Yes, it turns out. To the consternation of the fans, who began to litter the field with debris. Twitter, the announcers, the fans — it was bedlam……(continue reading)

2. We’ll Wire The Governor

You see it is the Governor who is at fault for no teams from Texas advancing to the ALCS.  That pompous tweet was sent before the Royals scored six runs to win Game 4, leading to game 5 and also before the Rangers got their butts kicked at home, to then play a game 5 on the road in Toronto, (see #1).  The Royals beat the Astros last night and now will play the Blue Jays in the #ALCS; while the Rangers will have to sacrifice a live rooster to remove that jinx.  No Astros.  No Rangers.  Recall!

In this Era of the New Dumb, idiots can never be under-estimated.  Like cockroaches, they are hard to kill and will be around long after we’ve left this ethereal 3rd Stone from the Sun.  What we do know for certain is no matter how tonight’s Dodgers/Mets game turns out – the World Series will definitely be Blue.

  • Johnny Cueto dominates, Royals beat Astros to return to ALCS – Johnny Cueto woke up Wednesday morning, feeling completely different than any day these last three tortured months, suddenly overcome with a sense of confidence.  Cueto drove to Kauffman Stadium, walked towards his Kansas City Royals’ teammates, and told them that in the biggest game of their season, to go ahead and relax……(continue reading)

3. 2015 Dixie Championship pt.1

Tonight, it’s the Southern Showdown.  The NFL’s most bitter, hated, rivalry with nothing on the line but pride and prejudice.  The first two franchises in the traditional “Deep South” have shared players; Morten Anderson (leading scorer in both franchises), Bobby Hebert (QB for both teams in the ’90’s), Joe Horn, Curtis Lofton, etc…and we have also shared sons of coaches, like Jim L Mora and Wade Phillips – sons of Jim and Bum – soon we will share Stadium Names – and we both have been to Superbowls, but only one of us lost to the Broncos…sinner.

For more than 40yrs, fans of either team have considered the other their most hated opponent.  Even ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli said this rivalry is one of the best in sports:

Every year, bus caravans loaded with rowdy (and usually very inebriated) fans make the seven-hour trip between the two cities. Unless you’ve attended a Falcons-Saints debauchery-filled afternoon, you’ll just have to take my word for how much fun it really can be

Records do not matter.  For the Falcons, they will want to beat down the Saints and crush all the hope that is left in an already dismal season.  God’s Army will want to stop a 2-game losing streak to c’Antlanta and give the Dirty-Birds their 1st taste of humble pie for 2015.  The Falcons overall, lead the series all-time 49-43, but since Drew and Sean got together the Saints are 13-5 against the Dirty-Birds, and tonight its gonna be a Duck-Hunt!

On the Hump…

idiot

A kid from Ohio won a championship in Cleveland, and it wasn’t LeBron.  Now we have articles like this – and to me, completely missing the point of what we witnessed.  LeBron became the first player ever to lead BOTH teams in points, rebounds and assists – and the guy who guarded him gets the MVP?!  Sure, it’s a nice story, Iguodola’s rise from bench role-player to Finals MVP, but what are we evaluating anymore?  The current league MVP got 0 votes and 7 out of 11 voters voted for a guy who could not stop LeBron.  I doubt LeBron would have wanted it anyway…

Maybe my point is, we should appreciate a bit more what we saw – because after the guy in this picture got his tattoo – Love went down, then Kyrie went down, and it is like we have said around here before – you do not tempt fate – ask Kentucky fan and the other dopes about #KarmicRespnsibility.  Now, at least, we know we will never see a Finals MVP from a losing team again; if not last night, then never.  Clearly the dogmatic-media chumps are too rancorous to separate performance from result.  The Warriors went wire-to-wire, and deserved this title – none of that will be as memorable as James toting this sack of rocks up the hill like Sisyphus. James showed he’s still the world’s best, one of the best ever, and in losing, somehow managed to play the doomed, tragic hero archetype.  Who’d-a-thunk that?

  • Iguodala, Warriors finish off Cavaliers for first title in 40 years

The Warriors clinched their first NBA championship in 40 years, defeating the Cavaliers, 105-97, in Game 6. Andre Iguodala, who was named Finals MVP, scored 25 points in Game 6 (tying Stephen Curry for the team-lead), marking his only 25-point game since the start of the 2014-15 regular season. Iguodala is the first player in NBA history to score at least 25 points in a Finals-clinching victory without recording any 25-point games in the preceding regular season or earlier in that year’s playoffs.

nullGreen records triple-double in Game 6 clincherDraymond Green was a huge contributor in the Warriors’ road to glory as well, recording 16 points in Game 6 along with a team-high 11 rebounds and 10 assists. The 25-year-old became the sixth player to record a triple-double for the victorious team in a Finals clincher, joining Magic Johnson (1982 and 1985), Larry Bird (1986), James Worthy (1988), Tim Duncan (2003), and LeBron James (2012). Magic had been the only player before Green to achieve that feat on his opponents’ home floor – Johnson recorded 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists at Boston Garden in Game 6 of the 1985 Finals.

For the 2015 playoffs as a whole, Green averaged 13.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. Tim Duncan is the only other player in the last 30 years who won a championship, having averaged double-figures in both points and rebounds along with at least five assists per game throughout the playoffs; Duncan averaged 24.7 points, 15.4 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in the 2003 playoffs. Other players to reach those heights reads like a list of the all-time greats: Bill Russell (six times in the 1960’s), Larry Bird (1981 and 1984), Magic Johnson (1980 and 1982),Bill Walton (1977), Wilt Chamberlain (1967), Tom Gola (1956), and Neil Johnston (1956)

nullLeBron falls short despite superhuman effort

LeBron James did all he could for the Cavaliers, leading the team with 32 points, 18 rebounds, and nine assists in Game 6. James, who also led the Cavs in those three categories in Game 2 and Game 5, is the second player in the shot-clock era to lead his team (or tie for the team-lead) in points, rebounds, and assists at least three times in a single NBA Finals. Tim Duncan had three such games leading the Spurs in the 2003 Finals against the Nets.

James had also led the Heat in points, rebounds, and assists in six of Miami’s Finals games from 2012 to 2014 (two per year). No other player achieved that feat even once in a Finals game over the last five years.

St. Louis Cardinals Hackers Facing Serious Federal Jail Time

Someone is going to jail.  As for the the organization, you would think a minimum, 8 figure fine.  I would give them a post season ban for a few years as well.  The Corporate Espionage that the Cardinals, knowingly and willingly conspired to, did not just impact the Astros – it impacted lots of other teams that compromised relationships with players and damaged salary and trade negotiations.  For some involved, this has to equate to lifetime banishment – this goes beyond Pete Rose’s transgressions or Shoeless Joe’s.  We have witnessed other leagues’ commissioners deal with some sort of league-wide crisis recently, but nothing like this – I wonder what Roger Goodell would do???

  • Home run derby at Camden Yards

The Orioles played longball and then some against the Phillies on Tuesday, cranking out a franchise-record eight home runs in their 19-3 victory. Manny Machado started the barrage with a leadoff homer in the first inning and then homered again to begin the second inning for the O’s. Machado is just the third player in the last 50 years to lead off both the first and second innings of a game with a home run. The other two to do so in the last half-century are Chad Curtis, who achieved that feat with the Tigers on May 28, 1995 against the White Sox, and Stan Javier, who hit two leadoff shots for the Giants on April 11, 1999 versus the Padres.

    nullLong(ball) night for Phillies bullpen

Dustin McGowan had a rough night in relief for the Phillies, allowing five of the Orioles’ eight home runs in 3.1 innings pitched. McGowan is just the fifth pitcher in the modern era – and the first in Phillies history – to surrender at least five homers in a game while pitching in relief. The four others to do so since 1900 are George Caster (1940), Craig Skok (1978), Frank Pastore (1979), and Andrew Lorraine(2002) – Caster gave up six homers while the other three pitchers allowed five.

Justin De Fratus also allowed a home run in relief for the Phillies, as did Jeff Francoeur, who took the mound for the first time in his 11-year major-league career to throw two mop-up innings. The seven home runs allowed by the Phillies bullpen matched the major-league record for most homers allowed by a team’s relievers in a single game. There had been two previous instances of a team’s relief pitchers allowing exactly seven long balls – the Reds’ relievers did so on June 6, 1939 at the Polo Grounds against the Giants, and the Orioles’ pen served up seven at Toronto on September 14, 1987.

    nullHolt hits for cycle

Brock Holt doubled to lead off Tuesday’s game for the Red Sox against Julio Teheran and the Braves, then singled in the fifth inning, hit a solo homer in the seventh, and tripled in his final at-bat to complete the first cycle in the majors this season. Holt is the first player to hit for the cycle against the Braves since the Mets’ Keith Hernandez did so on July 4, 1985. Atlanta’s streak of 4776 games without allowing a player to hit for the cycle had been the longest active streak in the major leagues by a wide margin. That distinction now belongs to the Blue Jays – Toronto has not allowed a cycle in its last 3954 games. The last player to record a cycle against the Jays was Hall-of-Famer George Brett on July 25, 1990.

    More goose eggs for Pirates

The Pirates continued their mastery on the mound, blanking the White Sox, 3-0, to win their sixth straight game. Pittsburgh has kept its opponent off the scoreboard in five of those six wins, marking the first time in almost 20 years that a team recorded five shutouts within a six-game span. The Orioles were the last team with such a span, having finished the 1995 regular season with five consecutive shutouts. The only other time that Pittsburgh posted at least five shutouts over a six-game span took place 112 years ago! The Pirates posted six consecutive shutouts from June 2 to June 8, 1903 – two over the Giants, three against the Boston Beaneaters, and one versus the Phillies.

DiRTy Plays Hot Hands Thursday

westbrook

March 12th, 2015

Our Hot Hands for this past week can be compared to that of the NBA MVP race.  It has been amazing to watch, night after night, five guys who have put it all on the table and gone all in as we come down the home stretch to the NBA playoffs.  The hottest guy in the NBA has been Russell Westbrook for about the last month or so, putting up ridiculous numbers.  Westbrook averaged 30 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assist dating back to January 24th of this season.  In his last 7 games, he has 6 Triple-Doubles and going into last night that had barely held off the Pelicans from taking over the 8th seed in the Western Conference.  Unfortunately for Westbrook he has had such great success at playing on a rage against the machine, he now feels that he must take over every game in order to secure victory.  While he fills the stat sheet, including the turnover category, one thing to make note of is OKC’s record when Westbrook goes for a Triple-Double.   It is .500 and so does this really mean he is an MVP.  I say absolutely not and last night’s performance against an underrated defense in the L.A. Clippers, Westbrook almost had another Triple-Double only this time he had 10 turnovers to go with his 9 rebounds and 22 points.  The Clippers came in and put a beat down on OKC and proved to the West that they are a legitimate contender and so long as OKC is without the real MVP, Durant, all they are is the 8th seed with a guy who has a high motor and fills up the stat sheet.  When Kevin Love was doing that last year, he wasn’t considered to be in the MVP race, he was vilified for not winning.  Are we simply too afraid of Westbrook to put these same parameters and connotations behind his play or is it just we are so enamored with his athleticism that we cannot fathom that OKC still might not make the playoffs with kevindurant_mvpDurant continuing to be sidelined.  However, for your daily fantasy value, it’s tough to not have him start for you.  We have found that so long as his cost is at $12,100 or less he should be on your team, anything above that you are going to sacrifice your profit in those contests.

Next to crack our weekly list is LeBron James.  Yes, once again he makes the Hot Hand category and it doesn’t come without criticism.  It wasn’t until earlier this week, I heard someone from ESPN finally put LeBron James in the MVP race.  I guess I too hadn’t put him in there until recently but then I listened to the actual statement made and in that soliloquy and come to realize that LeBron James is always the MVP but it is human nature to search for the next great star.  I mean look at how many TV shows are out there to find the top chef, the top child chef, the next country singer star, the next dance team, then next guy who can ride a bike with no hands.  As Chris Carter brought to television C’Mon man, all this man does is put up 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game.  James has officially taken over the Cavs all-time lead in assists and he is a small forward?!  In terms of his fantasy value he is #3 over the past 10 games and had he played in the 4th quarter of most of his last few games, he might be #1.  The only issue you have with James these days is that the Cavs are blowing teams out so bad that he doesn’t need to play down the stretch or even through long stretches in the middle of the game.  Keep him on your radar and on your lineup so long as his cost remains hovering around $11,000 on Fan Duel and $10,500 on DraftKings.

Third on this list is Anthony Davis.  Yes, “The Brow”, has been simply dominating since coming back from his shoulder injury.  He has put up some huge numbers going for over 40 earlier this week in a comeback win over the Nets.  The Pelicans are flying high right now and are looking to make a run down the stretch to sneak past OKC and get into the playoffs for the first time in years.  Anthony Davis carries this team on both sides of the court and even with Tyreke Evans going down this week, you didn’t see that change their success.  In terms of fantasy value, Davis is #2 overall and comes in averaging just over 54 Fan Duel points per game and 58 points on DraftKings.  His magic number in terms of salary value is $11,200.  If he is at or under this marker, take him and watch your team cash.  $5 might not make you holla but if you play 15 contests per day, follow our analysis and recommendations, you will cash in 12 of those contests and profit right around $60 at a minimum.  The good news is you get to do this while drinking beer and watching games with your nba playoffsbuddies, in the, what used to be an office area, now turned sports gaming arena.

  • 1st Golden State
  • 2nd Memphis
  • 3rd Portland
  • 4th Houston
  • 5th LA Clippers
  • 6th San Antonio
  • 7th Dallas
  • 8th OKC
  • 9th New Orleans
  • 10th Phoenix

Number 4 for the week is Kawhi Leonard.  This young, budding superstar is tearing it up right now.  He has posted 20+ points and 10+ rebounds in 4 of his last 5 games.  The Spurs started off with a 4 games losing streak on their rodeo road trip but have since reeled off 5 straight victories and are about to surpass the Mavs for the 6th seed in the West.  Kawhi has been the leading candidate for this progress.  In terms of fantasy value, Leonard, has posted at least 45 fantasy points in all 5 contests and will continue to do so as long as Pop doesn’t feel he needs a rest.  This team is so difficult to read in terms of fantasy leagues and can be compared to the Patriots of the NFL.  You never know who is going to go off.  Their bench guys might have Mills hitting for 20, Ginobli the next night for 25, Belinelli for 18 on six three’s and so and so forth.  There are two guys to consider over the next week and those are Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard.  This combination is like Brady and Gronkowski, you can kawhi_champscount on them and the rest it’s a huge hit or miss.  Since I use math to make our decisions for us, the math says stay away from everyone else and stick with these two, they will each get you 40+ fantasy points per night over the next week’s set of games.

Last but certainly not least for this week’s Hot Hands we bring you DeAndre Jordan.  I know what you are going to say; “Where is James Harden”?  Others will say, “Where is Steph Curry”?  The reality of the situation is that, I project NBA daily fantasy value and not the best players in the game today.  I am not writing to tell you who Captain Obvious would put down here.  I crunch numbers and provide you with expected outcomes to predict the likelihood of success for your daily fantasy contests.  So why is Jordan on this list this week?  It is because he is a rebounding machine on a consistent basis.  He now has 13 consecutive games with at least 14 rebounds and in 12 of these games he had 15 or more.  In 4 of them he had more than 20 rebounds in a game.  Combine that with the fact that he is on the court more than 80% of the game, which happens to be the most in the NBA over this stretch and he is shooting 72% from the floor right now.  He might not be able to hit 50% from the free throw line but when you get 15 chances per game, you get 7 free points.  He will get 2 to 3 dunks per game and most likely will go for 16 points and 16 rebounds.  From a stats perspective, this is tremendous, Jordan doesn’t turn the ball over and is number 5 in block shots over this stretch.  The best news is that Fan Duel and DraftKings haven’t seemed to change his salary.  Their algorithms haven’t picked up on this just yet but he is going to be a 45 on your team each and every night and is usually right around $9,500.  If you want to win like we do, then you have to look at the value of that player, the percentage of your overall spend and the production you will get for him.

It’s nice that we are able to provide you with Sleepers to consider each night but the true strategy in this game is how do you keep the consistent top performers and find those mid-level guys that are going to have huge nights.  We have added a segment for just this reason.  This week I will be providing you with some insight into why our Lineups To Consider have players that we don’t discuss or provide additional stats for so you can continue to win and win big.  We will have a lineup creation tool available next week in preparation for the final weeks of the NBA season as we look to roll into baseball season next.  Stay tuned for our bracket analysis as we look to apply our basketball analysis in order to predict the results of the NCAA tournament.  Look for additional information over the coming days and Monday next week we will focus heavily on how to help you win.  Follow us on Twitter @TheDiRTCanon and get our daily news as well as progress throughout all the daily NBA games each night.

DiRTy Plays Wednesday

Week To Date Recap

We have started off the week with some very nice production and profit to be precise.  It takes consistency, accuracy and analysis to be able to produce in daily NBA fantasy leagues and we are proving that we can do this for you.  If you simply play our Lineups To Consider you will win 68% of the time.  If you take that and apply that to the games that we highlight for you each day, your win percentage increases to 81%.

It has been a promising week, to say the least, considering the fact that every “SuperStar” in the league today has been putting up tremendous numbers.  Games are coming down to the wire and all you have to do is sit back and read our Twitter feed @TheDiRTCanon and we provide you with the updates you need in terms of point production.  Russell Westbrook kicks off his week tonight and we expect another huge performance.  LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard captivised our lineups last night and we scored an enormous 333.9 with taking a ZERO for Ginobli as he was a late scratch after shoot around and we weren’t able to change it because the contest had already begun.  Too bad FanDuel hasn’t changed that aspect of their site yet!

One of our top performers last night was Alex Shved.  Yes, we said and we played it and guess what that was huge for our (After Hours) contents which we won on all three that we played last night.  Take a look at this video, it just goes to show you how math can be applied to predict results even when you have players that do this:

Just Aaa Bit Outsiiide!
